Documentary photography, much like a cup of coffee, can sometimes be subtle—its depth only fully appreciated when you understand the story behind the moments. On the other hand, visually artistic photos immediately captivate, drawing people in at first sight. My approach to wedding photography is about striking the perfect balance between these two perspectives.
I embrace the unconventional, creating images that are non-traditional and full of character. That’s why I add my own twist—like mixing in just the right amount of honey, fruit, and granola into that plain yogurt, transforming it into a rich and flavorful yogurt parfait. When you look through my work, you’ll experience layers of storytelling, emotion, and connection—capturing moments that feel both real and unforgettable.

Jim Lee is a Bay Area-based wedding photographer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from SUNY. With over a decade of professional experience, he has worked across the U.S. and internationally, including in France, Caribbean, Bali and Hong Kong etc. He was recognized as one of the Best of the Best 50 wedding and engagement photographers in the world by Junebug Weddings, his work has also been featured on their platform.
